Chair
Permanent member of the committee appointed by the USU Vice President for Research.
University Attending Veterinarian
Permanent member of the committee appointed by the USU Vice President for research. This person is responsible for the University-wide animal care and use program.
IACUC Administrator
Permanent member of the committee appointed by the USU Vice President for Research. This person is responsible for the day to day operation of the committee.
Non-Scientific
A non-scientific member is required by law to be on the committee. This person represents the non-scientific perspective of animal research. A non-scientist is an individual who does not use animals in their research. By this definition a chemist (who is a scientist) could fit the role of a non-scientist.
Scientific
In the past 15 years there have been representatives from the following departments serving as committee members: Nutrition & Food Science, Biology, ADVS, Range Science, Fisheries & Wildlife, and the USDA/ARS Poisonous Plant Research Laboratory.
Non-Institutional
This member is not affiliated with the university, it is required by law and represents community values.
